What is a baby wrap, a baby sling, what is the difference, and why use them? Well here is a Smart Tip that will show you how to wear your baby in style! Babies worn in wraps or slings are happier, they cry less, and are less stressed. Wearing your baby provides a transitional womb from the uterus to the outside world. It is especially beneficial for premature, c-section, and colicky babies. Research has shown that babies who are touched and held gain weight faster and are healthier than babies who are not. Keeping your baby in a wrap promotes bonding and physical development. Your baby tunes in to your heartbeat, the rhythm of your breath, and the movements you make as it stimulates them to regulate their own physical responses. Baby wearing is fun, economical, and it’s a safe place for your baby to be when navigating busy supermarkets, restaurants, malls, and crowded places like airports. Not to mention they look so cute! Here are the two basic styles of baby wear. A sling, which slides over your shoulder and your baby lays inside, or a wrap which is a long strip of fabric that is wrapped around your body to create a baby carrier for your baby.
